All You Ever Wanted to Know About Insurance

Is your car stocked with winter and year-round necessities?

As we start running the risk of snow, it's a great time to double-check that your car is stocked with all the necessities. Here's a great list to get you started:

1.    Flashlight (with spare batteries) – Because sometimes life’s unexpected moments happen in the dark.

2.    First-aid kit – Carry different sized bandages, antiseptic wipes, gloves, pain relievers, scissors, cotton balls, gauze, and adhesive tape.

3.    Spare tire – Today, not all cars come with a spare tire, but an inflator kit instead. While an inflator kit will help repair a basic thread puncture, it may not come in handy if there’s a full blowout. So be prepared, and make sure you have a spare!

4.    Tools – If you need to change a tire, you’ll need a little bit of assistance.

5.    Car escape hammer – It’s small, but it could save your life. One end is to cut your seatbelt, while the other end is used to break your window.

6.    Emergency warning triangle – In the event that you need to pull over for an extended period, first pull off the road as far as safely possible. Then, place your emergency triangle behind your vehicle so other drivers can spot you.

7.    Jumper cables – Don’t let a dead battery leave you stranded.

8.    Phone charger – If your phone dies and you need to make a call for help, what would you do? A charger that plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter or USB port is a simple & affordable solution.

9.    Owner’s manual – That is, if it’s not already in your glove box.

10.  Ice scraper – Keep your windshield and windows clear in the winter.

11.  Foldable shovel – If your car is ever stuck in the snow, you’ll be able to shovel your way out. Or, if you’re stuck in a hole, you’ll have what you need to fill it!

12.  Blanket – Whether you need to spend the night inside of your vehicle or wait outside for help, a blanket will keep you warm and cozy!

13.  Bottled water and granola bars – On the off chance you’re ever stranded, having food and water is always a good idea.

14.  Roll of quarters – Tolls and parking meters are common. But so is forgetting the change you need to feed them!
